4/1/2023 0 Comments Welcome to 2023G'day from sunny, hot and humid Townsville. I wouldn't be the supreme procrastinator if I didn't post this blog 4 days into the new year. Although the delay wasn't because of laziness, but because I wanted to make sure that I set myself some clear goals for 2023 that I'd like to keep if possible. Have a read below for my 2023 goals. Goal 1 Finish my short story 'The Hunt' by the end of January. This will be a big one. Things that I've completed so far for the short story.
.Things I've got left to do in the next 27 days
Goal 2 Work, work, work on my full length novel. I purchased the Lee Child BBC Maestro workshop... training... thing. I'm really enjoying seeing how he writes and learning that I'm not actually much different from how he undertakes his writing. Hopefully that translates to my book coming up to a similar standard but 200 million copies sold is a pretty big hill to climb. Goal 3 Continue to learn and research the art of writing to improve what I do. Part of this will be to continue attending the TWPC writing groups, sharing some works there and being more involved. I'll be keeping an eye out for free workshops on offer and was excited to see that authors like Andy Weir (The Martin) have facilitated free events on ProWritingAid. Aside from writing I need to get healthier so I'm going to be getting reacquainted with the treadmill which will give me time to listen to some writing podcasts. I wanted to try and finish my novel in 2022 but by August I knew that would be unrealistic. It will get done but I need to have some realistic goals. Hope everyone has a great 2023
